Rakhi is a major Festival of India .In his Festival Sister tie rakhi to their brothers and brother give Gifts to their sister. Sisters who are away from their brothers outside India , Send Rakhi-Rakhi Gifts to India for their brothers and Brothers send Rakhi Gifts to Them.
Though this festival is known as Rakhi Purnima in northern States of the India.It is also being celebrated with gaiety in all parts of the country with different names and notions.
It is also called Kajri Purnima and Kajri Navmi . Kajri signifies -Ma Bagwati- Ma Bhagwati is worshipped when barley or wheat (one of the major crops of India) are sown for the first time in the season.
In Western States of India , this festival is known as Nariyal Purnima or Full Auspicious Moon.
Similarly in Southern States of India , this festival is known as Shrvan Purnima and special celebration are done by Brahmins ( Most Upper cast in Hindu Society).
There are various names of Rakhi -
Visk Tarak- The Venom Destroyer
Punya Pradayak-Boon Showering
and
Pap Nashak-Sin Destroyer
